Overspeed Training Camp Features

Low Player to Coach Ratio

You won't get lost in a sea of faces at our camp. We will have 4 to 5 on-ice instructors for every 15-20 skaters for on-ice and off-ice sessions. For goalies, the ration drops to one instructor per 2 to 3 goalies..

Just Hockey

What we do is simple: high level coaches and instructors working with top players, pushing them to reach peak performance. We have only one goal; each athlete playing their best hockey, ready to make an impact at their AA or AAA training camps.

Guaranteed Results

We expect all athletes to be in top shape when they report to the Overspeed camp. This will be the most intense hockey camp they ever attended, guaranteed. We encourage athletes to enroll in one of our Focus Fitness/THC Hockey training programs (THC Future Stars, THC All Stars, or Focus Fitness Performance Hockey Program).

Work With The Best:

All coaches have a wealth of knowledge in developing hockey players and helping them achieve their full potential. Actively working with NHL players like Jonathan Toews, Traviz Zajac, Nigel Dawes, Derek Meech, Jannik Hansen & Darcy Zajac, Matt Watkins and Jordan Pietrus of the AHL, and countless other pro, college and junior hockey players, Focus Fitness are the undisputed leaders in hockey-specific conditioning and training.

Strength and Dryland Conditioning

Off-ice conditioning will consist of developing explosive power, first step quickness, agility, balance and speed. We will use the latest techniques and equipment to ensure your off-ice training component is as hockey-specific as possible to help carry over to your on-ice training. These are the same techniques and tools we use in our Performance Hockey programs to get our professional, college, junior and AAA players ready for their training camps.

On-Ice Training:

The on-ice will consist of two separate sessions:

  • Session 1 will fine tune the skills needed to be at your best for training camp. All aspects of skill development will be worked on in this seassion including skating, passing, shooting, stickhandling and deking.
  • Session 2 will involve improving on-ice speed, explosive power and quickness. Our unique approach to developing power on the ice includes the use of overspeed tubing, resistance straps, parachutes, power skating techniques and the ultimate tool, your body.

Goaltender Training

Our goaltender coaches from the Ice Lab will work with goaltenders during each groups' first on-ice session. To ensure maximum benefits we are limiting the number of goalies to four per age group. Goalies for more information please contact: Brent Zelenewich, Manager of Goaltender Development, MTS Iceplex (204) 926-5869.
