About Focus Fitness

Since 1997 Focus Fitness has been training and developing athletes and non-athletes to reach their full physical potential by constantly changing, adapting and learning new techniques to get better results. This applies not only to training techniques, but also nutritional and recovery techniques.

We have grown from a small 1200 square foot training studio in 1998, to a 2500 square foot training centre in 2004, to a 5000 square foot centre in 2007, and now at our final destination of 5500 sqaure feet in Western Canada's premier recreation centre – the MTS Iceplex. This has not been by accident. As we've grown, we have added an rained some of the top coaches in the strength and conditioning field in the province. This has allowed us to develop a solid line up of programs that help people get results.

Our coaches have and currently work with the Vancouver Canucks, National Women's Hockey team (under-22 and under-18 programs as well), Manitoba Moose, Jennifer Jones curling team, Winnipeg Rifles (junior football team), along with many elite and professional atheletes like: Jonathan Toews (Chicago Blackhawks), Travis Zajac (New Jersey Devils), Nigel Dawes (Atlanta Thrashers), Derek Meech (Detroit Red Wings), Jordin Tootoo (Nashville Predators) and Jennifer Saunders (Women's National Racquetball champion).

Why We Train Athletes

Over the last several years our training focus has shifted to mostly athletes for a variety of reasons, but most importantly: they are very goal driven, they work hard to achieve their goals, and after they've achieved a goal, they set new, loftier goals. It is for this reason that athletes are fun to work with.

Why We Believe You Are An Athlete

Our focus on atheletes made us take a serious look at our programs and realize taht we can train all clients like we train our athletes. All you need is to be goal driven, hard working and have the will to work through some challenging training sessions. Our slogan over the last few years has been "Test Your Will" and if you are willing to do that, you too an be a client at Focus Fitness.

How many times have you looked at an athlete and said, "Wow, I wish I could look like that, run like that, play like that?" We all do that. Realize that athletes look the way they do because they train hard, eat righ, rest and recover properly and are mentally tough. These are things that seem simple, but in reality are very difficult things to do.
